Dayna Bartoli

About

Dayna Bartoli (1987) is an artist from Arizona who works in various mediums including photography, bookmaking, and mixed media objects. She graduated from Arizona State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography and went on to receive a Master of Fine Arts degree in 2015 from the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art in Norway. Bartoli also spent some time working in the medical field as an ophthalmic photographer, photographing retinal blood vessels and circulation patterns. Many of her projects are rooted in a fascination with scientific phenomena and experimentation. She values a much less rigid form of experimentation in her artistic practice and seeks to use experimental failures as transformative opportunities.

Bartoli’s photographs have been published in Harper’s Magazine. She was named one of Lens Culture’s “21 New and Emerging Photographers” of 2013, and has been a featured artist on Art Photo Index.
